Does MyEclipse offer any inbuild web service support or do I have to download the Apache Axis jars to create a proxy for a web service?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

    Glenn,

Yes we do but we’re really not finished with it yet. In the latest development release of MyEclipse (MyEclipse 5.0 Milestone 1) we’re got the support for webservices that is available in WTP 1.5, which is documented here. Unfortunately, we haven’t had time to enhance and integrate the capabilities to a higher level than what’s available in WTP since we’re still at Milestone 1 of the 5.0 release. However, the support is axis-based and may do what you’re looking for “as is”.

If that looks like what you’re looking for, after you install MyEclipse 5.0M1 you can enable these additional features by navigating to Window > Preferences > General > Capabilities > Advanced… and expanding the MyEclipse Standard Tools section and enabling ‘WTP Extras’. Please note that when using these capabilities, the MyEclipse documentation regarding project setups and servers will not apply and the WTP documentation should be used instead. Going forward we plan on having much better support than this, but it’s “where we are now”. Hope that helps.

Not yet, and the web services stuff will go into M2 of 5.0.

Does the WTP work with MyEclipse 4.1.1?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

    Glenn,
No (Previous to 5.0 we used a heavily modified version of the original WTP release, so it was not compatible), but MyEclipse 5.0M1 is based on WTP 1.5, so yes.
