Eclipse 3.0 M4 is available on the Eclipse site here: http://eclipse.org/downloads/index.php

However, a version of MyEclipse that has been tested with it won’t be available until late in the week.

Any updates on the status of MyEclipse for 3.0M4? We’re eager to checkit out, but are waiting for this version.

    Rick,

It should be available toward the end of the week (10/24th-ish). We always release our updates for the current production platform first, which is Eclipse 2.1.1. Once that is out the door we do the final builds and testing for the latest 3.0 milestone builds. The feature sets between the next releases (2.6.3 and 3.6.3) will be identical. If you’re looking at our products for the first time we highly recommend using Eclipse 2.1.1 / MyEclipse 2.6.x because of the increased stability of Eclipse 2.1.1 over the 3.0M-build stream. The API’s in the Eclipse 3.0 builds are still shifting quite a bit and it definately has some stability issues.

You can be notified as soon as any new releases are available by subscribing to the MyEclipse newsletter. The signup button is available in the left nav bar.

Thank you, Scott – I appreciate the detailed and timely reply. We’re not going to use the older Eclipse, but will be aware of the “caveat emptor” nature of using the latest.

    That’s what we’re here for. 🙂

Sounds good. No problem at all. We just like to make sure that everyone is aware that Eclipse 3.0 is still “code in motion”.
