This is a really dumb question I know but I can’t seem to work it out so call me stupid and move on 🙂

Where the hell do the plugins go?

I want to install JadEclipse and XML Buddy so I dropped the files into

    C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins

restart MyEclipse but they don’t seem to be enabled. I do the same thing on Ganymede and they all work. I haven’t tried any other plugins since I only just signed up for MyEclipse but this is not a good start 🙁

    Thanks for any advice.

Seems they have to go into the dropins directory. Shouldn’t this be a FAQ?

The dropins dir is new since Eclipse 3.4, and probably kind of regarded as ‘known knowledge’. (Just like you are ‘required’ to know the laws of your country :o) )

Normally you are advised to install through the Add/Remove software entries in the Help menu of (My)Eclipse, but that requires plug-ins to have an update-site.
