Environement Eclipse 8.5
When I make changes to one file and saved it, then the entire workspace is getting compiled
Rather than just the one file which was modified.What setting should I change to correct this?

This issue is currently under investigation. Can you give us some more information to go further?
1. Can you copy paste your installation details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details?
2. Is your project deployed on any server? If you remove the deployment do you still find the issue?
3. Are there any dependent projects on your current project in your workspace?
4. Can you copy paste the contents of .project file of your project?
5. Can you list out any third party plugins that you have added?
