On my work, I only need myeclipse to do the following things:
editing JSP; editing XML; debuging servert/jsp; starting/stopping applications.
I use these functions on 90% of my work time.
Other functions, such as DB explorer, Hibernate and Strus editor is useless for me.
I think if there is a lite version, it will be much better.

You can navigate to Window > Preferences > General > Capabilities and turn off all the functionality you need or don’t need.
