I am loading up a new computer. I have installed Ecplise 3.1 and MyEcplise 4.1GA. I then imported the preferences from my old computer.

It seems that the MyEcplise variables in the preferences file point to the wrong paths for MyEcplise resources. For instance MYECPLISE_LIB_HOME points to the 4.0.0 MyEcplsie version rather than the 4.1.0 version which is actually installed on the new computer.

I know how I got here, I did not do a fresh export of the preferences on the old computer before I did an import on the new computer. Which means I know how to fix it….

Luckily I did not change the default MyEcplise install path on the new computer, though I did think about it. If I HAD changed the path (for instance D:\Tools\MyEcplise from C:\Program Files\etc) is there a way to change the locations? Other than a text search/replace in the preferences file?

No I don’t think there is, at some point we need to point to an absolute path but I think you found the way to get around that.
