I understood you will be including WTP 1.5 (final) from MyEclipse 5.0M2 onwards.
Are you planning to include WTP 1.5 server configurations? I find these far superior than the MyEclipse application server support.
However, WTP does not support WebSphere 5.1 (only 6.0).MyEclipse 5.0M2 will not be using the WTP 1.5 server configurations. However, I think you’ll like it due to some of the enhancements we’ve added in M2. First, we allow you to create as many custom launch configurations as you’d like for each server (See the Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Application Servers > servername > Launch page in M2). Second, we have a brand new server view that makes deployment and server management very easy. You can see a preview of that here: http://jroller.com/page/myeclipseblog/20060615
With those two enhancements, I think you’ll see we’ve reached parity with the flexibility while retaining our simplicity and application server coverage (evnet Websphere 5.1). Please give it a shot and let us know what you think when it becomes available.
