    forum88,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Can you answer few more queries for me to investigate this further?
    1. Do you see any errors in your problems window? If yes, can you copy and paste the same here.
    2. Else look for relevant errors in the .log file located at <your workspace dir>/.metadata/.log
    3. Can you copy and paste pulse.handshake.id from pulse2.properties file located here
    ~\Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties
    4. Can you attach screenshots in support?
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    4. I am not sure how to attach screenshots. I don’t see any options.
When I select WEB or WTP perspective the perspective menu says Web (MyEclipse Incompatible) perspective OR WTP (MyEclipse Incompatible) perspective respectively

please let me know would be possible to run j2ee application properly if the incompatibility issue persists. I need to decide an IDE for my project ASAP.

    forum88,

Thank you for the details. Looks like your ME profile is either incomplete / corrupted. I would recommend you a quick fix using pulse. Please follow below mentioned –
    1. Open pulse. If you don’t have pulse, you can download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
    2. Login pulse. In case you don’t have a pulse login, you can also login anonymously.
    3. This will redirect you to the pulse-explorer. Choose “Eclipse – Ganymede” from the top left hand corner dropdown.
    4. Expand “My Profiles”. This will list you all your installed ME profiles
    5. Right click on “MyEclipse 7.5” and from the context menu click on [Re-install and run]
Pulse will automatically fix any dependency issues.
Let me know how this works for you.

    Best.

    joy,

i tried doing the same as you instructed but of no use.
I am planning to uninstall myeclipse and install it again.
can i install using pulse? if so please let me know how to do that.
Also let me know if MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 3.4 Ganymede is the right software from the link below:

    forum88,

Ah sorry about that. I would recommend you a clean re-install. Please follow the below steps –
    1. Run the uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
    4. Open and login to pulse
    5. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” from the top left hand corner dropdown
    6. Click on Ready to use Profiles > Popular, this will list you all the popular MyEclipse profiles.
    7. Right click on “MyEclipse 8.0” and from the context menu click on [run]. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps to install ME 8.0

ME 8.0 is the latest release based on Eclipse 3.5.1. In case you need to install ME 7.5 based on Eclipse 3.4.2 please select “Eclipse – Ganymede” from the top right hand corner dropdown and follow the above steps.
    Best.

    forum88,

By incompatibility do you mean that project/app in WTP not compatible to that of ME web project? If yes, then this is still not supported. You will need to create a new web project and copy and paste the relevant files to the newly created ME project. Sorry I should have been more clear earlier. If not, can you please clarify what is the exact incompatibility issue you are facing?

    joy,

the thing is that i have not created any web project.
but when I am trying to select the WEB or WTP perspective from the right hand top menu then it reads as WEB (MyEclipse incompatible) perspective.

Also my project was initially developed in IBM RAD and I was to recreated the project in MyEclipse. Do you thing there would be any issue?

If you are trying to migrade from IBM RAD to MyEclipse. I would recommend you to go through the below white papers –
