I have added a user entry in the xml catalog:

URI: http://www.springframework.org/dtd/spring-beans.dtd
Key Type: Public ID
Key: -//SPRING//DTD BEAN//EN

However, I still get an error indicating that the ‘bean’ element cannot have an ‘abstract’ attribute.

This is the same problem as http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2+file-viewtopic-t-5331.html.

But the fix does not work for me. If I ctrl-click the dtd in the xml editor the dtd opened /does/ contain the attribute definition for ‘abstract’.

I followed the directions from that link. It make no difference. In my orignal post I quoted my user entry (which is identical to that from the post you refer).

Sorry, I missed the quote. 🙂

Peculiar that this didn’t work as it did for me. Can you try cleaning the associated project so it will rebuild or manually rerunning validation on the project with MyEclipse > Run Validation?
