I’m developing some relatively large schemas at the moment, with a number of short test docs. I regularly use the ‘Validate XML File’ on the Navigator context menu and get an error panel with ‘See the problems view …’. There is never anything in the Problems View!

Sometimes there is an error flag against the test doc text and I can hover to see the error text. On other occasions when the problem appears to be in the schema nothing is flagged and I can find no way of determining the cause of the validation failure.

    – System Setup ——————————-
Operating System and version: XP SP2
    Eclipse version: 3.0.2
    Eclipse build id: 200503110845

    MyEclipse version: 4M2
    JDK version: 1.5_u3
Are there any exceptions in the Eclipse log file? n

    Cheers

    1) Please use JDK 1.4.2_08 to run Eclipse with our 4.0 Milestone for 3.0 releases. This will give the most stable runtime.

    2) Click the down arrow in the top right corner of your problems view, click Filters, then click Select All, and OK. Sometimes these get turned off.

You got it in 2). Must have been a missing filter.

I’ll leave JDK 1.5 in for now as I’ve not encountered other problems. If I do I’ll rethink.

Thanks for you’re prompt and accurate response.
