    ME Team:

I have no idea the state or eventual goals for the XML editor in ME, but I swa the new announcement of XMLBuddy Pro today and thought “wouldn’t it be nice if the ME team could focus entirely on the J2EE features and not worry about the baseline tool functionality?” and was wondering if developing an exclusive contract with the XMLBuddy team would save you time/money/effort? Maybe he gets $5 of every subscription or something like that, or you pay him a flat fee per year for the technology and that becomes your XML editor?

Anyway just a thought, if resources aren’t currently a problem, I think the XML editor in 2.7 is totally sweet and feel you should probably just keep the money to yourself and do it inhouse, but as I mentioned, don’t know if this is an attractive alternative.

    Best,
    Riyad

    Riyad,

We’re always looking to partner with others for some of our functionality. At some point I believe our exec’s spoke with Bob and if I remember correctly there was some sort of an issue that prevented us from partnering with him. Don’t know the specifics though.
